Shloimy's opened in 1983. Back then Lakewood was smaller, everyone knew their grocer, their butcher, their baker. Shloimy became all three, and kept being all three as the town grew.
Today Shloimy's is still where Lakewood families come for homemade prepared foods, fresh meat, bakery, sushi, and everything in between. Thursday and Friday afternoons are a rush of challah, cholent, and last-minute Shabbos shopping. The kind of institution that doesn't try to be fancy, it just gets the job done.
